ICW in action at the HLM!

The High Level Meeting on Ending AIDS (HLM) is being held this week with events happening from June 6–10, 2016 in New York.

The International Community of Women living with HIV (ICW) has been closely monitoring negotiations around the draft language for the HLM outcome document with our civil society partners and advocating for strong representation of what women living with HIV want in the document.

While the current draft includes important language on a range of important concerns for women and girls including gender equality and includes key commitments on human rights, it falls short of leaving no one behind.

ICW stands in solidarity with our sex worker sisters at Global Network of Sex Work Project (NSWP) and brothers in the HIV response at Global Forum on MSM and HIV (MSMGF) to call for the strong and representative inclusion of key populations in the HLM outcome document. Read the statement here.

ICW will have a powerful team of women living with HIV speaking and engaging at the HLM and we will keep our members and partners informed as the HLM progresses.
