The World Health Organization (WHO) HIV Department, Geneva is developing guidelines for the following two topics:
- The management of patients presenting with advanced HIV disease (including same day start of ART) and
- The public health response to HIV drug resistance.
WHO are seeking the views of people living with HIV to better understand the challenges of implementing some of the potential recommendations that may be made in these guidelines.
ICW works closely with WHO towards development, implementation and monitoring of responsive guidelines that are cognizant of gender and the needs of women and girls.
Rolake Odetoyinbo from ICW has joined the Guideline Development Group (GDG) to develop WHO recommendations on treatment strategies in the context of elevated levels of pre-treatment HIV drug resistance (HIVDR).
It is important that your experiences and views are included in the development of these guidelines. Help us make these guidelines work for women and girls living with HIV.
