I sincerely would like to thank each and every one who contributed towards my eye treatment. Your kindness and generosity has really touched my heart, the amount of support to me and my children particularly from a community I hold so dear has moved me beyond measure.
The calls and texts and prayers we received every single day since I reached out for help has been overwhelming and has given me the motivation and strength to fight this illness. I am truly grateful for having a global family that rallied around me, and supported me when I needed them the most.
The quick turnaround in getting the funds allowed my doctors to escalate the treatment and my right eye is able to see again, I am able to read and write effectively and do regular personal and professional chores without much struggle.
The Psychological support provided too has enabled me to recover from a world of depression and anxiety. I could not have made it this far without your support.
This week marks the last week of the intensive phase treatment of retinal injections; so far I have had 10 injections (4 in my right eye and 6 in my left eye) As I move on to therapy to coordinate my eyes for proper restoration of my vision.
Allow me to express my gratitude to each and every one of you, for your financial contributions, acts of kindness and prayers may you all be rewarded 10,000 times fold.
To the Global Civil society network, National Sex Worker Project (NSWP), International Community of Women Living with HIV (ICW), UNAIDS, Amnesty International, International HIV AIDS Alliance: Thank you for moving beyond borders to reach out to me on a personal level. Your actions have proven once again that it’s about people’s lives that our institutions exist.
To my Community of Sex Workers, Africa Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) and NSWP thank you for your love and support, for allowing me to show this side of my vulnerability as your leader and for your patience and kindness.
To my friends and family, who have had to take care of me and my kids, I am forever in your debt.
Above all I want to thank God, for giving me the strength and courage to endure all. Philippians 4:13 ”I can do anything through Christ who gives me strength”.
From the bottom of my heart…….Thank you
