Woman-to-woman, we can make a difference.
In Nepal, our networks are on the ground mobilizing to assess and to provide urgent
basic needs and to ensure that the disaster response addresses the needs of
women living with HIV and their families. ICW member organization, the National
Federation of Women living with HIV and AIDS (NFWLHA), part of ICW Asia Pacific,
is a grassroots network of women living with HIV in Nepal comprised of 33 organizations
from 23 districts. NFWLHA has already reached out through its grassroots networks in Makwanpur, Dhading, Gorka, Nuwakot and Kavre Districts and has so far identified over 100 ICW members in desperate need of basic necessities including food, water and shelter.
4000 Nepal Rupees or just under 40 USD will provide 30kg rice, 3 liters of oil
and 2kg pulse (daal), enough food to sustain a family of 4 for up to two weeks
and a tent that will sleep a family costs approximately 2000 Nepal Rupees or
just under 20 USD.
Every penny raised will go directly to networks of women living with HIV on the
ground in Nepal for needed emergency relief and basic supplies such as food,
water and shelter.
